The official start of the bi-centennial of the 1809-1817 presidency of James Madison has begun but Congress has yet to take the requisite steps to enable the Nation to mark the occasion. Accordingly, please join now as a Co-Sponsor of legislation to commemorate the occasion. Our Bill–the James Madison Memorial Designation Act–seeks an appropriate public memorial for the key intellectual figure in the creation of our Nation. We need your support now to implement this legislation. The Nation needs to keep alive the intellectual ideas of its Founders and James Madison was–as the “father” of the Constitution and its Bill of Rights–the Founder who proposed our most cherished ideals. Once you’re on board as a Co-Sponsor, please speak with others about your interest in having the Bill adopted. Since 2005, all federally funded educational institutions are mandated to actively celebrate Constitution Day. Through these celebrations, people have exponentially learned of James Madison and his role in the creation of the Constitution. With an increasingly diverse citizenry, the Nation has an undeniable need to accent the bonds that bind us all as embodied by James Madison and for our Bill to commemorate his role in having brought us all together.
